The Sunday League has 12 teams. We are team #4.
We finished league play in 8th place.
In the playoffs, we defeated Biogen, the 5th place team in 2 games. Then we played and defeated the 1st place team in 2 games, followed by defeating the 6th place team in 2 games to advance to the finals against our old arch-rivals--Happy Birthday (who had placed 4th in league play).
We started cold in the first game of the finals, and lost a lot of points that we never recovered from, but rebounded in the second game, taking the finals to the tie-breaker third game. At this point the long night caught up with us as the team tired, and although still playing well, the little errors were enough to give the game to Happy Birthday who were playing extremely well, making amazing digs, and forcing us to work really hard for every point.
So we came in 2nd Place.
